Primeiro, eu vou ler em Inglês devagar. Depois, você vai ter que traduzir de Português para Inglês. First, I’m going to read first in English slowly. Afterwards you will need to translate from Portuguese to English.

Part 1: English, slow reading

Christmas dinner is a feast! Yet, the type of food prepared may differ from family to family.

Let’s talk about what my family eats. As appetizers, you’ll usually find olives, sliced cheeses and some sort of dip (spinach or artichoke dip are very common) with sliced baguette or crackers on the side to dip in the dip. With the appetizers, we normally have wine from Napa or Sonoma (California’s famous wine regions).

In my family, the main dish changes from year to year. This year we’re having a honey-roasted ham with barbecued pineapple, potato casserole and asparagus. However, steak and turkey are also common. Sometimes we have lasagna with salad and garlic bread. It really varies. For dessert we usually have apple pie, fudge, and of course Christmas cookies. Yum!

The best part about this time of the year for me is that family travels from all over to spend time with each other, socialize and play games. Then after everyone leaves, you light a fire in the fireplace, lay on the couch very full and fall asleep with a Christmas movie in the background.
